Come learn LaTeX — or perfect your skills at it!
LaTeX is a typesetting engine that generates press-quality documents. If you’ve ever wondered how a really nice-looking linguistics (or mathematics, …) hand-out/paper had come into being, chances are it was typeset with LaTeX. We like to use it in the linguistics department, how about you give it a try?
We’ll be holding a workshop where you can come learn the basics and/or exchange know-how relating to some fancier applications.
Saturday, February 11th 11:00-15:00 in H-1013 — Lunch will be provided!

Instructions
Before you attend the workshop, we ask that you download and install LaTeX on your laptop. (If you don’t have a laptop to bring in for the workshop, please let us know and we will arrange something.)
You can download LaTeX from this website the following websites:
MAC: http://www.tug.org/mactex/
Download: MacTeX.mpkg.zip
WINDOWS: http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/windows/protext/
Download: protext.exe
Once you have the distribution, you can start the installation by running Setup.exe (if it does not open automatically). You can glance through the install document online, but be aware you must actually download the distribution and run the pdf from there for the installation to work. Following the links over the web does not work!
